Pre-foreclosure properties are those properties where you can still negotiate with the defaulted owner before foreclosure.  The owner of the property has been notified of their default (NOD) by the lender.   I highly recommend seeking assistance from a Realtor who is both knowledgable about foreclosure and one who understands and cares about the default borrower's hardship and situation. 

 

Most common foreclosures are non-judicial and the process is administered without court supervision while protecting the rights of the lender and the borrower.
